How is this calculated?

Cooper 12-Minute Run Test: Run as far as you can in 12 minutes, then measure the distance.

VO2max = (distance_meters − 504.9) ÷ 44.73

Rockport 1-Mile Walk Test: Walk 1 mile as fast as possible and record your time and heart rate at the finish.

VO2max = 132.853 − 0.1692 × weight_kg − 0.3877 × age + 6.315 × gender − 3.2649 × time_min − 0.1565 × HR

VO2 max (maximal oxygen uptake) is the gold-standard measure of cardiovascular fitness. It represents the maximum rate at which your body can use oxygen during intense exercise.
