How is this calculated?

Negative Splits: The first half is ~2.5% slower than average, and the second half is ~2.5% faster. This is the strategy used by many elite runners for optimal race performance.
Positive Splits: The first half is ~2.5% faster than average, with the second half slowing. Common in less experienced runners or aggressive race starts.
